For some time now, I’d been keeping the feed for my dogs and rabbits in regular Rubbermaid tubs. To save space, I stacked them on top of each other, which was kind of a pain when it came time to feed- it meant taking the top bin down, filling the food bowls, and then re-stacking them. A couple weeks ago, a co-worker let me know that I was putting my pets at risk by keeping their feed in pet food storage containers.

It turns out that plastic ain’t just plastic- some kinds are safe to keep food in, others aren’t. Quick as I could, I bought a set of stackable pet food containers. I got them for my pets’ safety, but as it turned out, they weren’t a bad thing for my health either! They have this great design that lets me leave them stacked, and get food out of the front door.

That means no more heavy lifting, and my back is thanking me for it. So whether you do it for yourself, or your pets, it’s smart to invest in a pet food storage system. Despite what you might think, these dog supplies won’t cost much, and if it keeps the doctor away for even one day, it’ll be worth it.
